Cleanup of our facility has already begun, however if you can lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated.  The more help we receive the faster will be able to return to racing.

  • Friday Nights from 6pm to 8pm is gate practice. We will be running a split cadence, ABA for the first hour, UCI Random for the second hour.
  • Saturday Racing: 10:30am-11:30am is race registration, racing will begin at 12 noon. ABA 2-moto transfer system to get everyone out quickly.
  • Sunday Racing: 9:30am-10:30am is race registration, racing will begin at 11am. Again ABA 2-moto transfer system will be used.

Please see the events calendar for other race times and which dates have been selected as part of the Winter Racing Series.

We will be running the UCI Random Gate for all classes.  Be sure to show up as early as possible for additional practice on the new cadence.

We will also be running the ABA 2-moto transfer as it is done with the ABA Nationals for the northeast.  What does this mean for you?  This means tighter and more action packed racing as we will now be transferring additional spots to the main with each moto.   It also means that we will be ending earlier than usual so those in PA that have already started school will be able to get home  at a decent time.

For example:

3-moto Transfer – 6 riders in the class the system goes 1-2-2.  1st in moto 1 transfers to main,  1st and 2nd in moto 2 transfers to main, 1st and 2nd in moto 3 transfers to main

2-moto Transfer – 6 riders in the class the system goes 2-3.  1st AND 2nd in moto 1 transfers to main, 1st, 2nd AND 3rd in moto 2 transfers to main.

That class will still end up with a 5 rider main event.

Tuesday Night Practice will return on September 7 at the regular $3/rider fee.

]]> http://grippenparkbmx.com/2010/08/26/tuesday-night-racing-ends-next-week/feed/ 0 New pricing and practice changes in affect. http://grippenparkbmx.com/2010/07/14/new-pricing-and-practice-changes-in-affect/ http://grippenparkbmx.com/2010/07/14/new-pricing-and-practice-changes-in-affect/#comments Thu, 15 Jul 2010 03:09:37 +0000 Grippen Park BMX http://grippenparkbmx.com/?p=203 After much deliberation, Grippen Park BMX is making some much needed changes for practice sessions as well as race fees.  We understand that have two races each week can get costly, and with an additional third practice day people can get worn out pretty quick.  It just makes more sense to use the warmup time as official practice sessions that have a dedicated day for practice alone.  This will also bring everyone together and some of you “practice only” people can meet the “race only” people and learn more about the competitive side of BMX Racing.

Changes

Practice sessions will be from 6:00pm – 7:45pm on Tuesday’s and Friday’s.  The fee remains at $3.00 for all riders that choose not to sign up to race.  Track time is about the same as a dedicated night, give or take a few minutes.

A new race fee structure is also now in place to give those racers not interested in taking home trophies, medallions or ABA Saver Stamps a way to save some cash.  We understand that not everyone wants or needs another trophy or medallion, so this will enable those that just want to race to come out both Tuesday and Friday.

New Race fees:

$7.00 per class for a ribbon or ABA points only.
$10.00 per class for a trophy, the new medallions or ABA Saver Stamps.
